I found one!

So my quest is at an end!

I was able to track down a Commodore 64 within the Niagara Falls area in Ontario, which is only a two-hour drive from my home in Kitchener/Waterloo.

I got it for the princely sum of $150.

So what was part of this $150? Well let me list the items:

  • Commodore 64 (Breadbox style)
  • 1541 Disk drive
  • 1701 CRT Monitor
  • MPS 80 Dot Matrix printer
  • Various software items

To be honest I only needed the computer itself to get me started and I was expecting to pay $150 just for that alone. Everything else seemed like a bonus, so I headed off on my drive to pick up the items.

Upon arrival, I found the person patiently waiting for me with all the items still boxed and sitting in his garage. All of these items were still in their original boxes, apart from the printer and monitor (No biggie).

Appears this guy had this all this stuff from his childhood and we just looking to get rid of it all and it has just been lying around in his garage for 30+ years.

This is what I got.

And the monitor
I was pretty pleased with my haul but only mildly concerned about what actually worked.

So heading back home I had my hopes set high.
